Ingredients for 1 caipirinha cocktail

  • 2 ounces of cachaça
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (4 tablespoons for very sweet caipirinha)
  • crushed ice
  • Sugar and 1/2 lime for the top of the glass (optional)

Old-fashioned glass Preparation (optional)

1 Pour lime juice in a small plate.
2 Pour sugar in another small plate.
3 Dip the top of the glass in the lime juice and soak it in sugar.
4 Place the glass in the freezer (head up) for 20 minutes.


1 Wash the lime and cut into 8 wedges.
2 Place wedges of lime in an old-fashioned glass and add 2 tablespoons of sugar.
3 Mash until the complete extraction of lime juice.
4 Fill with crushed ice to the top of the glass and add 2 ounces of cachaça.
You can add a piece of lime to the top of the glass.
